Pronews 7 Investigates: Teaching the Deaf in AISD
Pronews 7 Investigates: Teaching the Deaf in AISD: Members, of the deaf community say they’re worried about local deaf kids. This is because AISD uses Morphemic Sign System or MSS instead of American Sign Language for instructing the deaf. AISDsays that they’ve been using MSS for decades in the classroom, and that it helps their students read and speak. Critics instead claim that students who graduate from our school system have trouble communicating with other deaf people, because they’re educated in a non-standard sign.
